 1) What is a convention of a magazine cover? Give an example from Tatler[2 marks]

An example of a convention on a magazine cover is cover lines, and an example from tatler is "THE ONE MONTH GAP YEAR"

2) How does the front cover of Tatler use media language to appeal to its target audience? [6 marks]
The cover of tatler uses media language to appeal to its target audience by the color choice. This is because the colors are pink and beige which are both quite feminine and rich colors, often associated with the upper class. Also, the model is heavily made up which shows she is made to stand out. In addition, the bracketed phrase (YES REALLY) shows the 

3) How does the front cover of Reveal magazine represent female celebrities? [12 marks]
   The cover of reveal magazine represents females as sly and cunning. This is undoubtedly displayed where a subtitle 'KATIE PLOTS SECRET MEETINGS WITH PETE'. In particular, the verb 'plot' and the noun 'secret' shows her discreet manner as she dosent want anyone knowing about this meeting between them. Th reader feels slightly intrigued, because you want to find out why that meeting was communicated to the reader in such a secretive way. 

The front cover could also show women as obsessive for relationships or babies. This could be sensationalize of women as its in a way pressuring women to have children as the target audience for reveal is middle aged women. This is shown where the cover lines says' blooming baby bumps' and 'cheryl becomes a very posh mum'. This message is portrayed because if celebrities are having children, then you also should too.
